Four Weddings and a Funeral with Stefan van Berlo

For our February show, we featured 2-time Belgian Champion Stefan van Berlo as our designer. Fittingly, just before Valentine's Day, Stefan presented the theme "Four Weddings and a Funeral."

Stefan is a regular guest on our monthly online shows, and for good reason. His creativity is boundless, and his work is absolutely stunning. This time, he once again amazed us with incredible designs.

Stefan began with a heart-shaped flower ring, a great and interesting alternative to a traditional wedding bouquet. Using only a few Alstroemeria flowers, he achieved an exceptionally elegant look.

The second arrangement focused on contrasts, not only in colors but also in flower shapes. Although Stefan used only Lisianthus, he incorporated two distinct types: the smooth Rosita White and the curly Rosanne Emerald. Additionally, the design explored the interplay of lines, resulting in a dynamic composition.

For the third design, Stefan demonstrated how an arrangement can serve both wedding and funeral purposes with a simple adjustment. He created a natural wreath covered in moss, adorned with striking Anthuriums, Alstroemeria, Lisianthus, and Alocasia leaves.

What's a wedding party without beautifully decorated tables? Utilizing chandeliers, not just for candles but as a base for flowers, Stefan achieved a playful and airy effect. A clever trick was bedding the Tulips to enhance their volume. And observe the remarkably large dandelions he incorporated!

Next was a natural wedding bouquet, glued with small cones and a ring of flowers. The base was covered (courtesy of Stefan’s Dachshunds) with a pillow cover.

Stefan showcased the versatility of multi-piece arrangements with his next designs. He pre-made two dried flower balls and created an arrangement with coordinating colored flowers.

Last but not least, another dual-purpose design, adaptable with a minor change. This arrangement boasts a delightful fragrance, as both sections are covered with Lavandula flowers. Between these layers, Stefan used various Lisianthus in complementary colors.

In just over an hour, Stefan crafted seven completely different designs, leaving viewers worldwide delighted and inspired.
